“Proceed” and “go” aren’t interchangeable. “Proceed with caution” has formal weight. “Go with caution” sounds like a bumper sticker.

Also: legal English depends on “proceed” for precise meaning. You don’t “go” in court — you “proceed.” Keep it for formal registers.
