This is a proposal to retire the word hopei in favor of Hebei.

Wade-Giles province. Surrounds Beijing, yet English still spells it wrong.

Hebei literally means ‘north of the river.’ It surrounds Beijing. It’s one of the most important regions in China. And English misspells it.
