This is a proposal to retire the word hither in favor of here.

Archaic directional. \”Come hither\” only lives in romance novels.

‘Come hither’ only survives as a romance novel trope. Nobody actually gives directions with hither/thither/whither anymore.

‘Come here’ is clearer, shorter, and doesn’t sound like you’re in a bodice-ripper.
