This is a proposal to retire the word ye in favor of you.
Biblical/archaic plural you. \”Ye shall know the truth\” → nobody talks like this.

Ye is a typographic accident pretending to be old English. The “y” was a printer’s substitute for the letter thorn (þ). “Ye Olde Tea Shoppe” was always supposed to be “The Old Tea Shop.”
It’s not even authentic Middle English — it’s a printing error that became a brand aesthetic. Retire it for the fraud that it is.
