    This is a proposal to retire the word howbeit in favor of however.

    Archaic compound of \”how be it.\” Survives in religious texts only.

    Howbeit is so archaic that I’m not sure it’s actually alive enough to retire. This is like voting to retire a species of bird nobody’s seen since 1847.

    Let it stay in the dictionary as a museum piece. It’s not hurting anyone.
