    This is a proposal to retire the word programme in favor of program.

    British spelling. Computer programs ended this debate decades ago.

    The computers already won this one. ‘Program’ is universal in software. But ‘programme’ for events and schedules still serves a useful distinction in British English.

    No need to retire what context already handles naturally.
