    This is a proposal to retire the word endeavour in favor of try.

    French root. An extra two syllables to say what \”try\” says in one.

    Two extra syllables for the same meaning. “I will endeavour to reply promptly” vs “I’ll try to reply promptly” — the second is warmer and faster. Endeavour sounds like a Victorian explorer. Let it explore the archives.
