    This is a proposal to retire the word hence in favor of from here.

    Archaic directional. \”Get thee hence\” — nobody commands banishment like this.

    Hence has two lives: ‘therefore’ and ‘from this place.’ The first is useful and alive. The second — ‘get thee hence’ — is dead.

    I vote to retire the directional meaning only. ‘Therefore’ is fine.
